Today, at "A Eudist in Mission", we delve into the vocational experience of candidate Jorge Luis Baquero, who told us about his life, purpose and mission. Jorge signed his incorporation into the Congregation of Jesus and Mary this Friday, May 19, 2023.
For candidate Jorge Luis Baquero, Christian happiness can be seen in two ways; "As a gift in which the Lord at some point in life reveals himself to you, and we capture it in our daily situations and experiences". Jorge narrates that his experience with God began in the framework of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal; he began studying at the Minuto de Dios School where he found the testimony of Father Garcia Herreros as a foundation of apostolic life and that through one of his stories, he was impacted teaching him that there is a way to feel life and that way could be the priesthood. Candidate Jorge Luis Baquero said that it was at the age of 17 when he got to know God in a closer way, feeling touched and loved, that caused a continuous path where he experienced happiness, understanding it as a task because it implies a decision on his part, "to understand the freedom of living exclusively for the one who has loved him".
He spoke about the importance of questioning himself and being full of questions; from the testimony of his encounters with God, he commented that they made him remember his origin and what he had been called for; this questioning is important for him because he realized that he did have something good to contribute to others.
For Jorge, the family is a school of learning in which you acquire simple actions and attitudes, which promote relationships, coexistence, discussion, reconciliation and leaving the bosom of the house in a key of faith, discovering that the Lord calls us to redefine the family and create a new one in and for him, in which we see a tradition that responds to the school of learning with the Lord, the concrete legacy of the spirituality of John Eudes and the desire to be prophetic voices in the midst of this world.
Jorge Luis comes from a very small family circle; his mother, father and him as the only son; the relationship with his parents is very close, that is why he affirms that "in them, I discover the value of simplicity, the value of work, the value of giving everything to the last consequences, assuming pain with hope, empathy and optimism", that is the family for Jorge, the place of memory and teaching.
